English Classes
Discussion & Lecture Classes
Members at the International Center can attend over 45 Discussion and Lecture classes each week. The classes are taught by trained volunteers and are open on a walk-in basis, so all you have to do is show up on time!
Each class meets for one to three hours. Topics include pronunciation, grammar, idioms, vocabulary, and conversation. Other subjects are U.S. history and government, American culture, music, film, and literature. Click for a look at our class schedule.
Structured Classes
If you prefer a smaller class size and a more structured learning environment, these classes will be perfect for you! Structured courses are taught by professional teachers or graduate students pursuing a Master’s degree in teaching English.
Courses include grammar, reading, writing, pronunciation, and communication skills. Classes meet once a week for 8-10 weeks. New courses begin every 3 months.
Registration is required. Each course costs $40.

"Before coming to the International Center, it was difficult for me to understand English. But now it is easy. When I first came to the Center, I visited a class where everyone was speaking English. They were all asking questions and no one felt uncomfortable. Being here helps me feel like I am not alone in America."
