Founded in 1961, The International Center in New York (ICNY) is a unique community where immigrants, refugees, students and other newcomers to the United States come to practice English and learn about American culture. Each year, we provide 2,500 newcomers, from 95 different countries, with a wide range of language and cultural programs through our corps of 1,000 volunteers.

International Center Receives Funding from the Open Society Institute
ICNY is delighted to announce that it has received funding to launch the Andrew Romay Immigrant Support program at ICNY so that it can better serve the needs of New York City's growing immigrant population. This initiative is funded by Andrew Romay and The Open Society Institute, a private operating and grant-making foundation established by global financier and philanthropist, George Soros.
