Explorations Abroad Fair & Mixer
Tuesday, April 1, 2008, 6:30-8 PM

Learn about opportunities to teach, volunteer, and travel abroad. Meet other volunteers who have experienced the challenges and rewards of traveling the world. Enjoy refreshments and enter raffles to win international travel books or an introduction to one of our members’ languages.

Immigrant Heritage Week Event - Caribbean Discoveries
Thursday, April 17, 2008, 6-8 PM

Join Haitian author and painter Nicole Titus for what promises to be a memorable event to celebrate the immigrant heritage of New York. In addition to reading from her book Akin to No One, Ms. Titus will be signing copies of her book and auctioning off her unique paintings to benefit the International Center, Yele Haiti and the Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village. Sample and enjoy Caribbean food and music. Enter a raffle to win a signed copy of Ms. Titus’ book Akin to No One.

International Games Afternoon & Recognition Ceremony
Saturday, April 26, 2008, 2-4:30 PM

Play games from around the world. Members will bring card and board games, among others, and will teach volunteers how to play them. We’ll start the afternoon with a brief ceremony honoring ICNY’s volunteers who have served our members for more than thirty years. Light refreshments will be served. Let’s have fun together!

International Food & Culture Celebration
Wednesday, April 30, 6:30-8 PM

Sample international cuisines prepared by ICNY members and enter a raffle to win prizes including critically acclaimed international cook books. Our hallmark culinary event – it’s not to be missed!
